A brief trip in the forest has a surprise.
My family had entered the forest and glanced at the mist rising from the pond.
Echos of the animals' songs had died down as we continued.
Our pulses increased with the thought of the tree we would bring home for Christmas.
Little Angie picked up a small round stone that she thought was so beautiful.
Our search was rewarded after we had walked for thirty minutes.
We all stopped at the same time to gaze at a gorgeous fir tree.
Grandfather had some tears in his eyes.
The scene had seemed to tap into a very special memory for him.
"Leave it be." he said
"I planted this tree for a very special lady."
Snow had just started drifting from its gray, thick cloud as we turned around to go.
