A writing for young men in abusive parental situations. Defining what a man is.
Little Boy

Into this world
Comes a man
Head of house
No set plan
Heart of a lion
Strength of the mouse

Future decided
No mentors, unguided
Questions answered
With anger and violence

Memory deposits
Blue lights reflect fists
Bloody from struggle
Out-manned in the tussle

Stop proving this man
Coward and liars demand
Respect from the weak
Scared hit before peak
Descriptions of valor
In the mind create power
Only you know the truth
Deception enables the abuse
Souls crushed again
We need less of these men

Boys seek victims
In children and women
Men protect family
Unconditionally, show me

Little boy you’re a man
Show me that you can
Steer this car, lead this ship
Shattered windshield, memory clip

This man, little boy
Emotions of lead, an imported toy
Leverage created, art of war
Scars healed, again torn
Confusion persists
Unspoken words are remiss
Goals evolve on my list
Clear paths don’t exists
Opportunities missed
Questions to resist
Cheek never kissed
With no one to turn to
Eyes look to the wrist

Boy or a man
Words hit the wolf
Hands hits the lamb

Learned behaviors ignored
Father, sons tallies scored
Neither can win
Are we boys, are we men

Look at me now
What do you see
Little boy you love
Man you hate
Or just me
