Hope for the betterment of man.
The world is red beet salad mix;
some bad behaviors need a fix.
A flow of blood, a dying breath;
once beating heart now harbors death.

The world is green fruit bowl extant
among the life obsessed with rant.
The cracks that line bowl’s underside
bespeak a world packed full of pride

with wars and fighting, constant hate;
the wayward souls who instigate.
That limelight is more served, somehow
when love steps up and takes a bow.

Still hatred and a killing urge
remain a planetary scourge.
I celebrate in hope tonight
humanity can set things right.
