Prompted by Natalie Goldberg, a few attempts using the 5-7-5 format and other elements
light shines directly,
permeating the darkness,
on its heels, breath follows

determined ants march
the trail to their queen,
snow falls in darkness

The summer sun melts
flowers and grass weeps in pain,
Hope and joy hold hands

The spotted fawn rests
among the golden ripe wheat,
Life meets in the harvest

Trees sway in wind's might
Springtime roars and moves with strength,
Youth step into life

Nature calls to man,
the heart delighted, answers
pursuing freedom
