How to get things going again.
Recently, I've been writing like crazy, more than I ever have before.

I signed up for this thing online called "Memo Notepad" and I would honestly recommend it to anyone struggling with writer's block.

I don't know what it is about the format of the site, but something about it just makes the ideas flow out a little easier, not nearly as terrifying as a blank page for some reason.

And then, I just pick a prompt off of my Pinterest board full of them and go. For those who want to take a peek, it's the board "Writing" by Kyrie Claudy, same name as here. I've saved a lot of different prompts and posts, so feel free to check it out.

But for anyone stuck in a rut, I would highly suggest using Memo Notepad. It's easy, it's free, everything gets saved to the cloud so you don't have to worry about backing up your files like some other sites (*cough*calmlywriter.com*cough*).

Another tip is not to try and write a full length novel with these prompts. Just a nice little short story will do. And it'll seriously help to get the creative vibe flowing when you're not staring at the same chapter you've been trying to write for the past three weeks.

So, yeah. Memo Notepad, writing prompts, and short stories.

Hope this helps!

It probably is best to save your writings to your computer, then to an external drive. This helps make sure that you won't lose anything if the internet decides to go nuts. ... [Read more]
