Honoring Superman, born on February 29th.
He leaps tall buildings in a bound;
a benefit to have around
when city streets are fraught with crime…
the Man of Steel works overtime.

And Leap-Day is his date of birth;
how fortunate he came to Earth
to crash-land on a Kansas farm;
the trip through space did him no harm.

His planet Krypton was destroyed;
a million bits of asteroids
in depth of space as planets waved,
wherein the Man of Steel was saved

because his parents made a ship;
and Superman then made the trip
to Earth—an infant wrapped in cape;
from certain death he did escape.

But Man of Steel grew up to be
a man of pure integrity.
Clark Kent in business suit so plain;
he had a thing for Lois Lane.

A superhero come to stay;
he keeps the bad guys all at bay.
He’s locomotive power strong;
our Man of Steel can do no wrong.
