A poem describing how little control we really have...
Whose Mother

You are a dark one.
You are a jewel.
Whose mother cries all night for you? Pity

You be a blessed one.
Drenched in the sun.
Whose mother weeps you’re wicked fun? Envy

Bring on the mayhem.
Dessert in cages.
Whose mother refills age after ages? Sacrifice

Made up a fairy tale.
A damsel needs a villain.
Whose mother provides and then feeds him? Forgiveness

You are an angel.
A conqueror.
Whose mother embraces the bitter earth? Pride

You be reluctant.
Afraid of the light.
Whose mother defends a cowardly plight? Shame

Waltz out the boredom.
Gluttony on ice.
Whose mother provides the fork and knife? Ennui
