Sometimes the Grim Reaper gets a surprise.
Grim Reaper is cold-handed chap;
bones only, no skin, gray shroud.
He works tirelessly, relentlessly,
never seems to take a day off.
If he ever does take a break
I would think he would
drink coconut water, or
tea with coconut flavour.
To Grim,
life is not a mystery project
same script, same outcome.
Sherlock Holmes not needed;
death requires no analysis.
Clammy frail Grim is not
welcome-wagon worker;
he brings no brownies.
Busy Grim labors
overtime during
Corona pandemic,
bones clacking, bone
white skull a constant
grim Mister Death.
Lo and behold though,
someone recovers from
the virus, pushing Grim
away with an energetic
shove.  Grim falls back,
but breaks his fall on the
shoulders of nurses and
first responders.  Surprisingly,
he had warm hands this time
