Finding too much meaning in meaningless relationships
No clue if it’s my daddy issues
Or my Scorpio nature
Or just that I’m naturally trusting
But every time I talk to a new guy
I immediately get attached

My friends know about him and our chats
My interests morph into his
We text all day and call all night
The world wouldn’t function without him
And then he leaves

Usually, he blocks me without warning
Leaving me to guess what I did wrong
Or something I reveal freaks him out
So he ditches the weird internet chick
For someone normal without baggage

It stings but mere days later I’m back
Same old shit, different day of the week
I just want one time, one single instance
Where someone puts up with me
Long enough for me to learn the basics
