We were loved into the beings we became
Matthew 13:3-9 NIV New International Version: The he told them many things in parables, saying, "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they whithered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop: a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was shown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Not All Flowers Bloom

With each seed we've sown,
We tended with loving care,
Watching closely as they grow;
We've watered, fertilized,
And pulled out unwanted tare.
We loved them into being,
But alas not all will survive.
Try as we may to protect these
Tender plants, some will fall away.
Some will succumb to the
Storms of life.

We are the seeds that were sown;
We were bent by strong wind,
Fortified and shielded by constance care
Until we were grown;
We were loved into being who we are;
Each generation wanting better
For the next;
Sacrifices were made;
Some strayed.
Life is complex.

Not all flowers bloom.
