Loss of a loved one.
Gazing upon her face, I realized all the times I'd seen her but never really seen her. You know? Like those times when your four year old is talking and you just nod and not listen to what they are saying. Kinda like that - only this was permanent, etched into my memory for all time. Never again will I see her laugh out loud or see the wrinkles in her eyes. Hear her sighs, or moans, she was lost to me. All those years of listening but not listening, wasted. I sit here, in the dark, recalling all these memories of her. And wishing that time itself had stood still for just a single moment so that I could cherish her forever. Now all that I have are memories. She is the love of my life and I shall never love another like her. Perhaps in time I will heal and stop reliving the past - but for now - all I wish is that time stood still for just one single moment.
