Leaving grief behind
"Star Journey"

On a bed of red clover, damp with evening dew,
wrapped in a family-worn and frayed blanket,
she sat alone. Now, all alone.

A shower of stars rained; a shine not to be confused
with her tear soaked face.
Silence and sadness sanctioned run away thoughts.
Memories mirrored on the back of wet eyelids.

Sleep overcame long exhausted hours.
When she awoke near the time of dawn,
far away faint music became her new blanket;
now cloaked with feelings of peace and joy.

Just beyond the morning mist,
before moon's decline and sun's salutation,
stood a veiled presence.
As the figure approached,
she recognized a kindred spirit.
Not alone. No longer alone.

Dialogue between the two was spoken;
signals in concert with sound and light particles.
The messenger sent by the Star People
traveled on constellations of light and symphony.
A message of hope, harmony, and a passageway
shown through the galaxy to home.
