Thinking out loud and trying to heal.
Stay with your kind young lady know your place they say she was told this as a young girl. The young girl wondered who is my kind? I don't seem to fit quite right anywhere. I don't fit with the blacks, or the whites, the girls, or the boys so who is my kind? I just don't fit anywhere. The girl grew and became a young lady but found that nothing had changed much she was odder than ever. She found she still didn't get along in the world even though she tried to play along which never worked for long.
She was told once again by the people that looked like her stay with your kind. Well, they had her skin color, eye color, and the same type of hair, however, they were not like her where it counted the most in the heart. The young lady wanted to live, to love, and be kind. She struggled to do this because she found people very perplexing and usually would end up just making everyone mad with all her endless questions, her razor-sharp wit, and extremely sharp tongue. As she grew into a woman she longed to be with different faces and races in different places but she lacked the social skills. Again she was told to stay with your kind know your place you will be happier my dear. Again she wondered who's my kind? I am odder than ever and at times most unhappy I don't fit anywhere. Soon she grew tired and just gave up on finding her kind because she just assumed that this won't work for her because she has no kind. So alone she will be because she has made up her mind that she has no kind.
