My Husband gave me a random prompt yesterday to help me write something down.
Prompt: A Dog. His boy and a bag of candy hidden in the backyard.

A boy and his friend searched the yard for some treasure.
The friend, his dog. The treasure, some treats
Each searched the yard with thorough measure,
yet no matter where they looked they could not find those sweets.

The friend, his dog. The treasure, some treats.
The dog found a scent that led them to a trail,
yet no matter where they looked they could not find those sweets.
The boy had faith in his friend he knew they would not fail.

The dog found a scent that led them to a trail.
There were sticks laid out, X marks the spot.
The boy had faith in his friend he knew they would not fail.
They dug and dug and they both sat back and looked at the lot.

There were sticks laid out, X marks the spot,
and finally they came to the end of their adventure.
They dug and dug and the boy sat back and looked at the lot.
A boy and his friend searched the yard for some treasure.
