A family shrinks unbeknownst to the daughter

You are Derek. Your throwing a BBQ for your neighborhood when your daughter goes up to her room not feeling well. Soon after she leaves all of the guests suddenly shrink down to a 1/2in due to unknown circumstances.

Derek- 45, father and husband. Very easy going guy.
Susan- 40, your wife. Very protective of her children and would worry about their safety.
John- 18, your son. Sporty jock type. Works out regularly.
Sam- 16, your daughter. Hates bugs but will try not to kill them because of the gross mess they make. Didn't feel well and went up to her room during the BBQ.
Taylor- 8, youngest daughter. She likes to explore and play with her siblings.

Neighbors can be added as the story goes just keep it consistent within story lines.
People can die but try to keep the story going as long as possible and don't make it two sentences, describe it a little.
