Story introduction. Inside the mind of a soul trapped and bound by dark forces.
I slowly reach out my hand towards the dull brass doorknob on the faded and scratched maple door in front of me. The doorknob doesn't turn easily at first, but with a bit of effort and struggling the door eventually gives way and creaks open loudly sounding very much as if no one has entered this space for a number of years. The overwhelming stench of rotting flesh and stale old bodily fluids hits me in the face and assails all of my senses as I slowly and cautiously open the door. I have to work hard to suppress the powerful urge to vomit as I force myself to look up and take in the scene before me. Just in front of me is one of the most incomprehensible exhibitions I have laid eyes upon in my 22 years as a forensic detective.

There are at least nine decomposing corpses in various states of decay strewn about the room. Some are suspended from the ceiling using chains and nets and some are tacked against the walls. All of them are posed in dehumanizing stances using various props - likely in an attempt to communicate the twisted and deranged interpretation of ancient mystical texts from the mind of the world's most notorious serial killers. I look down and confirm my suspicions as I recognize the usual calling card of the killer. "Gogmagog" has been painted on the floor in Pheryllt script using a mixture of blood and feces.

This is now the third mass "gravesite" I have attended to in the past week alone, all with the same characteristic symbolism and writing. We are dealing with a very dangerous criminal who is using ancient spiritual rites and rituals to justify his wanton attacks on innocent human beings. These violent acts are incomprehensible to the average person, but I've been in the business long enough to understand. These scenes are designed to spread fear and mass hysteria throughout the very fabric of our society.

I pull out my camera and start taking photos to begin my documentation of this intensely brutal crime scene.
