A boy with a disability gets help from his dog
“May I pet your dog?” That’s a question I always get asked. I don’t know why people ask me it, it always gets on my nerves. “Come on Jake!” I say to my dog as we wait for the local bus. Jake gets up, yawns, and stretches. He’s my 3 year old golden retriever service dog. He helps me pick up my toothbrush or get the remote to the tv. People don’t get why I need help so much. But I’m lucky to have Jake as a helping hand. People wave at Jake when he’s not on duty. And they sometimes give him people food on the street. He’s the best dog in the world.
