A short poem inspired by Lake Tahoe in the Winter
Cold air caresses my skin
Summer has worn down
The mountains have called and I have gone

The lake, what depths
Frigid water seizes my feet
No boats can be heard, only the crows in the pines

Bristlecone warriors
Surround the shelter
No man shall poison this water

Cold air encapsulates my being
This wind could carry me
Into an azure pond of icy death

Will I return?
The city waits
The Aspen air has claimed me
