The anti-Halloween contest
Halloween costume closeout sale
It’s not well built it will not scare
Inventory I truly declare
isn’t that good anywhere

They make them cheap and not so strong
falling off as the kids move along
It’s so sad you know but true
what am I to do I have not a clue

They can’t go without being well dressed
For Halloween, they need the very best
Costumes scary and strong they should be
custom made at home, yes we’ll see

Sewing machine breaks during the task
Where or where did I put that flask
No candy, no fun, no party tonight
the children will be in a horrible plight

Screaming for candy and to go out
This Halloween is ruined without a doubt

PROMPT:
Simply write a story and/or poem about a Halloween gone wrong. You can write about anything from a Halloween costume that nobody finds scary, to a comedy about what demons are really like, to a poem about Trick-or-Treat'ers who only get given healthy stuff.

I want to read about someone's Halloween being ruined and little kids crying over the absence of candy.
