He always was successful
He always was successful,
the sharpest man around.
I asked him where he got it,
this lucky charm he found.

“The reason that I look good
and always sound so smart,
I mingle with the dumb guys
to set myself apart.

“And I don’t have to diet
or work out at the gym.
I just hang with the fatsos
in order to look slim.

“In height I'm merely average;
you wouldn’t call me tall.
So I make sure I’ll stand with
someone who’s really small.

“No one would call me ugly
and I can tell you why;
compared to my companions
I am a handsome guy.”

Then all at once it hit me,
as clear as clear can be,
The reason why he looks good?
His closest friend is... me.
