What are they? Who rides in them? Who watches them closely? Joint Winner, CRAMP!
The trains that come
The trains that go
Do they give or do they take?

Some say goodbye
Some say hello
Real smiles and tears, or fake?

The express and
The extra slow
The journey undertaken

Just one path
to follow
All others forsaken.

Some empty
Some crowded
Some important, some ignored

Folks on business or vacation
People excited
People bored

People going people coming
Here to there
There to here

Everyone with a tale to tell
Grief to bear
Joy to cheer

Together now
Then parted
Maybe to meet again

Some chapters complete
Some just started
In comfort or in pain.

Who rides the trains?
Who watches them closely?
Are they related?

If one is you,
The other me
Are we, somehow, connected?

When eyes meet and hands wave
For a fleeting instant
In the train or closely watching
No one is near, no one distant.
