Poem comparing music to being in water.
I dip my toe delicately into the song,
Testing it, to make sure it's just right.
Close my eyes and wade into it,
Then let it carry me out to sea.

I take sips of the melody,
Enjoy it slowly, letting it run down my throat.
Then fully submerge in the angelic singing,
As it soaks into my pores.

And when that’s not enough…
I drown myself in the lyrics.
Killing myself,
just so I can feel it filling up all parts of me.

The sea is vast, majestic, and infinite,
I see myself reflected; the whole world reflected.
It will either mutilate me or console me,
There’s a chance it could swallow me whole.

What does it matter, though,
If I flourish or if I perish in the depths?
Even as I gulp the music down,
This thirst will never be quenched.
