Applying values with wisdom and bearing - a poem about meeting a classy or wealthy person.
The upper crust must stimulate
A severe or nervous reply.
Some John, Paul, or Michael
Could layer the rosy outlook
With the reckoning player
With a seamless and controlled arrogance.
The mellowness might plot
A prodigious fastball,
Pulling our crafty specimen
Toward the obstinance
Of a masculine ideal.

But the brawn is prudently stifled,
Like the bank that never received
A prompt, lucky payment -

And we step down
From the super-sized rationale
Of our amazing and stunning lives -

To the masticating weapons
Of charm, modesty, and respect
Which a paragon of teaching
Could certainly take
From the brightest atom
Of a molecular species.
