An ode to National Oreo Day, once called Wonder biscuits.
Wonder Biscuits

First made over one hundred years ago.
Now tasty flavors, colors vibrantly bold.
Original wasn’t bias, both black and white.
Offered all takers a delight filled bite.

Studied in England for brain screens.
Surprise! Rats pick Oreos over morphine.
Triggers neurons, a super sugar reaction.
A party of fur creatures getting in some action.

Memories of after school snacks.
Twist open, dissect for cookie attacks.
Tongue to icing, lick lusiciously sweet.
Nibble chocolate, a fun messy treat.

Oreos, like us, celebrate occasions,
Bastille Day, Halloween, Christmas creation.
Lady Gaga had a “Chromatic” album edition.
Gluten-free is in demand for medical conditions.

Don’t believe this fav has missed a trick.
Think of one, call it out, I bet on a fix.
Available in many countries, a global feast
Double-stuff, a fantasy, even made without yeast.

A shout out to you all at WDC,
Looking up ideas makes a smarter, hungry me.
Even if it’s a cookie, what a complex history!
Gotta go shop, my craving’s no mystery.
