Spirits At Lighthouses Contest poem
STRANGE NIGHT OF FEAR AND FLIGHT, AND DELIGHT

While en route through the grave yard
Our stomachs lurched and spirits shuttered
eerie noises and strange shadows fluttered
The hotel insight it was a delight
As we ran toward it breathing hard

something stirred and gave us a fright
It was a leprachaun with a sack at twilight
Running fast he blew right past
and this left us all quite aghast

Whatever is in his sack a mystery to hack
Near the hotel we decided to follow
the little fellow into the hollow
spooky and damp and as dank as could be
We lost him and fell into the deep hole
losing our souls no party to be

Redemption for us is no more who is this he
A scary creature nowhere near divine
For us it was the end of the line
hollow and dark we were no more
no hotel no future forever more
