St. Patrick’s Day Quilt

She loved quilting,
Cutting out the pieces,
Whether small or larger,
Then fitting them together.

Knowing daughter
Needed a new cover
For her bed, she began
Looking over her patterns.

Deciding that
A Shamrock quilt would be
Perfect, she bought cloth and
Thread. Then she began her work.

With quilt finished,
She showed it to her girl.
It’s very pretty, Mom,
But I’ve ne’er seen blue shamrocks.

Hmm! The mom thought,
Why didn’t I buy green?
But twenty years later,
Blue shamrocks cover the bed.
