waking alone
Sheets tangle my legs as I wake up quickly,
Suddenly.

Hair hides my face and I stretch slowly,
Unwind tentatively.

Breath fills me impatiently,
Deeply.

Solitude greets me for the hundredth time,
Or,
The thousandth time?

I reach for something,
Anything.

I don't need you,
But,
It's lonely here.
