No joking! April is the month that is for poems. One a day. Get ready and here we go!

"Batter up!" said the umpire on Opening Day.
This is no April Fools joke, we are really here to play.
Preseason training's finished.
The coaches did their best.
You have brand new equipment and
the World Series is your quest.
The weather is perfect, for todays first game.
The fans are in their seats,
so there is no one else to blame.
Keep your eyes on the pitches.
Let your swing follow through.
And when the crowds start cheering
run like lightning, like Ty Cobb would do.
Stealing bases is important
Don't have a mental block.
If you want to add a score
then run fast just like Lou Brock.
Now get in the batter's box,
I'll call the pitch as I can see.
Good luck to each amazing team.
It's "Play Ball" time for you and me.
