I love you God.
Forget all the doors that I’ve stood behind
Stood haunted
shackled in disbelief
Forget the nightmares that turned me into the monster
that said that I shouldn’t be
Forget all 25 and even the times
that Hell laid claims to me
Forget who didn’t love
and when I couldn’t trust
Forget hopeless
Forget my defeat
Forget that the temple once opened to thieves
Me an accomplice with no sympathy
Forget all my lies
Forget when I’d hide
Forget that I never loved me
They say “God’s got a purpose, and daughter you’re worth it.”
I need that to play on repeat
‘Cause not pretty not smart not rich enough either
Distortions of once little me
Distractions attack
but imprinted on my heart
Are all God’s capabilities
He’s forgiving my failures
does work through my flaws
His promises stand
NOT ME
