Flash fiction
"Who is making all that noise?" The nurse looked around the nursery. All the babies were crying, but one was screaming like a two year old in a tantrum. "Okay, Miss Noisy, what's your problem?" The nurse picked up the infant, who wriggled and continued to scream. A tiny hand flew out and caught the woman square in the eye. "Ow!"

The errant youngster was quickly dropped back in her plastic cot. Sister came in to see what all the noise was about. Seeing the nurse holding her eye she guessed at the cause. "Oh, we've got one of those. Put her in my office, well away from the others. Don't tell the Mum or we might get lumbered with the brat."
