Sudden involuntary prose contractions or convulsive textual admissions....
Da Capo

What cure is there for agony of heart?
The morning star still shines, unqualified;
The spirit mounts; it never dwells apart .

The fancy flimflam dreams that fail to start,
Eddies of love and friendship, newly died:
What cure is there for agony of heart?

We cling to things that all too soon depart,
Those things which we avoid, we must abide;
The spirit mounts; it never dwells apart .

Deep hopes, now failed, reflect a counterpart,
In ev’ry pain, a remedy for pride;
What cure is there for agony of heart?

The tumbril lists from joy to pain, life’s cart;
From pain to joy, the floodgates open wide;
What cure is there for agony of heart?
The spirit mounts; it never dwells apart .
