Nixon is my 11 year old German Shepherd and probably my best friend aside from my husband.
he looks at me in askance
brown eyes, deep earthen pools
head tilted slightly sideways
processing every sound
my every minute movement
his muscles coiled and tensed
awaiting my command
...my furry awkward friend, Nixon.
