My husband has a special way with animals and we have a wildlife zoo.
Dr. DoLittle’s Treehouse

Sunrise peeks over the lake, our lawn.
Their brown soft eyes are aglow.
Taste buds ready, two newly spotted fawns,
all whisper to my husband, “Where’s the grub? Hello!”

Six deer are at home in our yard.
Jumping the fence, they come and go.
Mixed bird seed is a favorite, by far.
Dr. D adds corn, a buffet rainbow.

Our cats tolerate this menagerie,
wildlife, a masterpiece reflecting life.
What a show, our natural gallery.
Squirrels, chipmunks play, no strife.

Hummingbirds, constant amusement.
Fascinating, jet past an ear, on a special path.
Tiny fairy wings in continuous movement
Frog pond and ivy fountain, play and a bath.

Our home, we call “The Treehouse”,
a sanctuary; no stress, just bliss.
We share with an occasional trophy mouse.
All this beauty we don’t wish to miss.
