the start to a trip to a haunted hotel
I had developed this hankering,
this wanderlust, truth be told,
to travel 'round the countryside
visiting places forlorn and old.

I kicked it off with a stay
in a haunted hotel room
rumored to have its own ghost
and an impending sense of doom.
