A poem about the 12 years between now and my miscarriage.
There is a tiny package
All tied up with string
It started as a flower
Just a little bud of hopes and dreams
Then something happened
It could not bloom
It was wrapped in blood and tied with tears
It oozed in my heart for so very long
Over time it dried
It hardened like a pearl
Now it sits still in my heart
Tiny and faded
Never to leave me
The only thing left of you
Something that rubs on my soul
You are still one of us
Our little family
I'm sorry
I could not get that flower to bloom
I will keep it safe until we meet
Together we will fix it my darling one.
