A 7 year old attempt at penning the thoughts unleashed behind glassy eyes.
Wind on my face, song on my lips,
Exultant spirits, mine today.
Soaring someplace in the clouds above, not once it dips,
Fancied heart, mine today.
Today no dark thoughts maim my soul,
This one moment of pure contentment,
Let there not gather a pall,
In the vastness of my firmament.

If today I smile, tomorrow it won’t last,
Such is the ritual of life.
Tomorrow weeps for today gone past,
Yet within the shade of strife,
Day bides until the night is surpassed.
