A MOTHER REMEMBERS

Ashes to ashes...dust to dust.
Old love letters ...gone in a gust.
Only a couple from Doug and Rick,
That I have saved from the fiery pit.
Saying "Daddy we love you...
and wish you were here.
Merry Christmas to you and
we'll see you next year!"

My very young and foolish ways,
gone in the twilight of my days!
Leaving treasures of children so dear...
for me to have and hold, ever near.
