Trying to move on
This work will never end.
         So, Daddy, let's go downtown.

It is an awful trend.
         So, Daddy, let's go downtown.

I must complete my chores.
         They'll be serving s'mores.

The weatherman predicts snow.
         The lights are all aglow.

My nose is runny.
         They'll have Bugs Bunny.

Well, maybe for a while.
Good! It will make you smile.

It's a very cheery festival.
         Isn't it sensational?

Your mother loved the glitter.
         I loved her apple fritters.

So sad she can't be here.
I feel like she is near.

I wore my Christmas sweater.
I am glad you're feeling better.

I need a heavier coat.
         Look! Here comes Santa's float.

This time together has raised my spirit,
I am happy to hear it.

and it washed away my frown.
Oh, Daddy, I'm glad we came to town!
