Riptide
Lines: 16

Riptide drags me under
I did not expect
the power of you
to pull me out to sea

Panic, perplexity
toss me back to shore
you rush to my side…
I escape to what I know

You cannot be here now
catching me off guard
foiling the grand plan
that I have visualized

Can you wait? Will you wait?
In a different place
at another time
I will not run from you
