They came for my neighbor

Masked men in white suits
Blue flashing lights
Approach my neighbors in black boots
A violation of her human rights?

Entering her house they searched
For the one who had the plague
Outside, she was marched
Should she appeal to The Hague?

In living memory, we have seen
The Gestapo and the Stasi here
What could this abduction mean?
Is this a reason for us to fear?

She has returned now and is OK
She was vaccinated a while ago
So her body won't be easy prey
She will defeat this unseen foe

AUTHOR NOTES: Written in Germany during the Covid19 Pandemic surge of early 2022. When the men in the hazmat suits came to collect my neighbor, across the road, who has Covid. She is back in the house and vaccinated and boosted so should fight this off.
