We're AMERICAN, and freedom to think for ones self and are given rights by our Creator...If yall believe yall done 'evolved,' I dont know what to tell you... YALL got a constitution- Its mainstream news, social media, big tech, Hollyweird, the elites, and the government. I encourage yall to think for YOURSELVES. OUR Constitution is for the religious and the moral persons, and we believe and honor it- like I said; this is America, and we entitled to freedom of speech, and religion- NO HUMAN, entity, or government got the power to change it. Respect my writers. Yall are welcome to disagree. WE respect YALL and yalls opinions and we ask yall do the same. We gone always be polite, but kindness aint weakness. “Don't bother to argue anything on the Internet. And I mean, ANYTHING... The most innocuous, innocent, harmless, basic topics will be misconstrued by people trying to deconstruct things down to the sub-atomic level and entirely miss the point... Seriously. Keep peeling the onion and you get no onion.”
― Vera Nazarian

To the point, I have to disagree with Mrs.Nazarian, because over the last month I and WDC member Richard (brennus,) managed to argue not 1 but 20 different topics without resorting to name-calling.

The plan was simple:

1) Send 10 questions to the opposite party

2) Answer theirs

3) Discuss

My Questions, His Answers

1) If the vaccines really do work, why do you care if others get it? If the vaccine doesn’t work, why should anyone get it? Do you support vaccine mandates?

To understand why I care if other people get vaccinated, one needs to know how viruses work.

A virus is not a living organism, and it requires a host to survive, propagate, and mutate. The more opportunity a virus has to do those things, the deadlier it becomes. An empirical example of this is the latest mutation, “Omicron.” The variant developed in a country with less than 25% of its population vaccinated. The more people vaccinated, the lesser chance for mutation and transmission.

Second, I generally like people, I don’t like it when they die needlessly. If there are valid medical reasons for not getting vaccinated, I can accept that. However, many of the anti-vaxxers I know make their decisions based on faulty, poorly done studies by pseudoscientists with questionable
credentials. Currently, the highest death rate is from unvaccinated people, more empirical evidence supporting vaccination.

People seem to think vaccine mandates are something new. They aren’t; vaccine mandates have existed for hundreds of years. In this country, the first mandate recorded was an order by Washington during the Revolutionary War, compelling troops to be inoculated against smallpox.

The answer to your question, though, is I support free choice. People should be free not to get vaccinated. However, people choosing not to be vaccinated must be prepared to accept the consequences of their decisions, whatever they might be.

2) If you support abortion outside of cases of rape/incest, how do you justify killing children for the convenience of the mother?

I don’t support or condone abortion. As stated above, I support free choice and the 3) Do you believe hate speech should be a crime? What would constitute “Hate Speech”?

Actually, hate speech is already a crime in some cases. Hate speech is anything based on lies, misinformation, racial profiling, sexual profiling, and anything purposely meant to demean another person.

4) Men and Women aren’t the same biologically, so how can a biological man fairly compete in women’s sports? Do you support transgender men in women’s sports?

This one always makes me chuckle. I won a softball home run derby once, not because I am a great hitter. I won because my pitcher, a Woman, was deadly accurate and threw a softball at ninety miles per hour. Once we had the timing down, the ball had no place else to go. BTW: She was also a better fielder than other members of a coed team.

Your question sells Women short and most female athletes should see it as insulting.

5) Are you proud to be an American? Why or why not?

Yes. I am proud because my country has grown and learned from our mistakes and will continue to do so.

6) What do you think of Generation Z (the youngest generation)?

I’m a former teacher; in reality, there is no difference between generations other than the artificial constructs created by someone who thinks there have to be differences.

The short answer? Yes, I liked all the kids I’ve met and taught.
7) Do you support gun control? Why or why not?

Yes, I support gun control. Rather, I support controlling access to weapons with no place in society. Semi-Automatic rifles aren’t hunting weapons, they are killing machines. I support any measure that keeps or removes guns form the hand of people who shouldn't have them.

8) Do you believe that voter laws that a citizen should be able to provide ID are discriminatory in any way?

I had to provide ID when I registered to vote. My signature is matched against the signature on file when I vote. There have been very few reported prosecutions of voter fraud. So yes, this is an attempt at discrimination.

9) Do you support the death penalty? *Quick note, added after the fact, I actually don't support the death penalty. Rotting in jail is a more suitable punishment, in my opinion

No. Mainly because it is an overly expensive and utterly ineffective method of punishment. Life incarceration without parole is cheaper {factoring in endless legal appeals) and just as effective.

10) What are your thoughts on Cancel Culture? How far is too far?

Cancel Culture is the rallying cry for people on the losing side of history. Culture and society evolve; the failure to realize that doesn’t change the fact that things evolve.

I'm a trombone player, when was the last time you saw a popular band with a trombone? Because the trombone is out of favor, has my Culture been Canceled? Or have times moved on?

My Responses to His Responses

RE #4 (Trans Athletes)
I am a female athlete playing at the High School level (softball as well, actually, although we're an all-girls team). I have a question for you about the validity of your claim that your pitcher friend was throwing 90. I'm assuming this was underhand pitch, as it's softball and not baseball, so that's physically impossible. The world record for fastest softball pitch belongs to Monica Abbot, who played for Tennessee. I'm actually a big fan of Ms. Abbot, she inspires me and girls like me to play our best every day...despite throwing 77 MPH. The world record holder throws 77. If this woman indeed threw 90, I would hope she capitalized on her talent and got recruited to some big pro team, but seeing as she plays for a coed team, I'm guessing not. No hate to her, she just physically can't throw 90. No woman can.

Consider Lia Thomas, the swimmer. She's beating biological women by insane amounts, and the women are suffering. Here's an article.

Not to mention scholarships.

Female athletes can't beat most men. From a female athlete, that's not insulting, that's the truth.

RE #7 (Guns)

Can you define Semi-Automatic for me? How exactly is that a "killing machine"? Can't anything capable of killing someone be considered a "killing machine"? Should we ban owning kitchen knives next?

RE #8 (voter ID)

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying that people can't get IDs because of their minority status or are you saying that making people prove who they are is discriminatory? (I was genuinely confused on this one *Added after)

And, Finally, His Re-Responses to My Responses

#4

Consider the female wrestler who wrestled for the school I taught at. Wrestling was/is a male sport. She was undefeated, All County, All State.

Perhaps it wasn't 90MPH we can nitpick if you wish the point is you are still selling yourself and other female athletes short.

#7

By any definition; A semi-automatic rifle is an autoloading rifle that fires one round each purll (Pull*, added after) of the trigger

How exactly is that a "killing machine"?

Most were designed or based on with the sole purpose of killing humans in a combat situations. These weapons aren't suitable for hunting, nor even self defence for the average homeowner. Unlike weapons designed for hunting or target shooting. The only reason they are semi auto is restrictions on the firing mechanisms. Which by the way can and often are circumvented with kits readily available online.

Can't anything capable of killing someone be considered a "killing machine"?

Not if it was designed with another purpose in mind.

Should we ban owning kitchen knives next?

In 2020 there were in total 13,347 killings using firearms and 1,739 killings by knife. Do you really think that's a valid statement and comparison? Are we going to do automobiles now? (Addition for factual purposes, added after...38,680 killed in 2020 by car accidents, be careful on the roads Y'all!)

Any actions that inhibit an American's right to vote. That includes bogus ID standards, closing polling places. limiting access to or closing places of registration.
