I always forget to do the last line many times.
All day I waited for the phone call
Saying who won the election for teacher of the year.
My name was in the finals.
I thought that I was worthy and without peer.

I kept the phone the same room.
The last call was from my twin sister Marge.
Too much silence was ominous and maddening
When I looked, I saw that the phone had lost its charge.
