Some labyrinths aren't that complex
Minotaur [Pantheon, part V]

Wallowing in labyrinths,
such beasts of burden dwell;
bullshit hoarded, stood on plinths,
such statutes set up well

Crooked, leaning to their traits,
Medusa's locks... portents;
Whilst Cyclops opt to know their fate
... to view the way it ends

'midst crass investigations, jigged,
report cards hidden, closed;
a jury of peers, rigged,
and judgements self imposed

Redacted swathes, a bygone maze,
left mired buried well;
viewed long through a poison haze,
the chalice, toxic, swells

Silencing such minotaurs,
half human, half bull... whole;
hybrid beings, hybrid laws,
Demarked in chalk and coal

Scrawled across a chalk board black,
a white board vague, yet clear;
teachings from a bygone track,
'midst lessons taught in fear

Rules set firm for all to see,
for all to act as one;
guidelines spun so hazily,
'midst gardens in the sun

Elysian fields, grain stained blue,
red, yellow, purple... stirred;
lies farmed hollow, straining through,
a harvest, mass interred

Another crime, a red flagged sign,
reports made, laid and gone;
another line to draw in time,
and casually move on

Down stark roads raised on dark remains,
flesh, muscle, sinew, bone;
with golden sand, by red blood stained,
a speaker on his throne

A speaker mute, as grains cascade,
the hourglasses turn;
with tomes redacted, truths unmade,
charred ashes line the urn

A road to hell with ill laid plans,
seeds ignorant, long sowed;
forever kicking sinful cans,
... forever down this road

Reaping all the benefits
a system's cheated woes;
seaping in the skin deep, it's...,
it's drawing to a close

Closing in, cut off the head,
Olympus mount's at stake;
a puppet hanging by a thread,
dark masters in his wake

We dare to dream of icarus,
wings waxen to the sun;
'midst pantomimes cast serious,
it ends as it begun

with bullshit hoarded on such plinths,
through not so common homes;
wallowing in labyrinths,
... such beasts of burden roam
