How important is friendship?
Without friendship, the world would be a very dull and meaningless place. Friendship is one of the most precious gifts that not everyone is blessed with. However, having a friend is preferable to not having one for a variety of reasons. We meet new people virtually everyday and this allows us to make new acquaintances. Many people believe not having a friend provides them tranquility; however, peace is not necessarily what we all want, but it is what we will eventually want. I could tell that having a fantastic friendship is the best way to reach tranquility.

I originally wanted to avoid creating or having friends because of the stigma that there are no nice friends out there, and this got the best of me and had detrimental repercussions on me that took a while to recognize; I had the opportunity to make friends, both good and bad, and I took advantage of this opportunity. Friendship has taught me a lot of things, and I don't want anyone to miss out on it.

The concept of Friendship

Friendship is a concept that defies categorization and cannot be reduced to a single definition. If I were to describe friendship, I would say that it is a beneficial relationship built on trust, respect, support, and admiration; friendship is the fundamental cornerstone of all relationships.

Friendships are really vital in our life; one can never be lonely if he is welcomed by a true friend. Friends will always be by your side to support you in any situation and will always celebrate with you in every happy moment; friends are like your dairy; you are open to them and can also share your secrets with them; friends will be aware of your imperfections and still love you for who you are; families love themselves because they are blood related, but friends will always have unconditional love for one another.

Depression wins in the heart of an individual who does not have a friend, regardless of the number of people present in the world. Having friends you can depend on builds your confidence; the absence of friends makes you feel powerlessly lonely and causes you to do certain things you should not do. Situations that cannot be solved alone can often be solved with the help of friends. Friends are very important in our psychological welfare. Good friends relieve stress, provide comfort and joy.
If friendship is so important, what would life be like without it?

Choosing your friends:

Memories with friends are usually joyful and unforgettable, but there is one key aspect of friendship development that we should not overlook: choosing the right friends. We may not have had the ability to choose our family, but we all have the opportunity to choose our friends.

As it has been said, "show me your friend and I'll tell you who you are," a man is often known by the company he keeps since the company one keeps helps to know oneself and develop one's personality to the fullest. You can easily predict where you'll end up in life based on who you hang out with. Your circle of friends has a significant impact and influence on your personal success.

Because of their past experiences with friends, many people have many misconceptions about friendship. Not all friends will encourage positivity in you; yet, making the right friend decision is critical. Many others have also struggled to meet people and form meaningful connections; nevertheless, it is never too late to make new friends and reconnect with old ones in order to improve your social life and overall well-being.

Choose friends with whom you share common values and certain fundamental ideas about life and relationships. These types of friends will keep you from being influenced negatively by those who do not share your values. Making the decision to surround yourself with friends who have similar ambitions can also assist you in accomplishing your objectives. This is due to the support and motivation you will receive from individuals with whom you share a common goal.

Age does not matter when it comes to friendship. We can make friends with people who are older than us; in fact, research has shown that friendships with people who are older than us are beneficial. We all have strengths and weaknesses, and with the appropriate friends, you may tap into the talents, skills, and abilities of those who have knowledge in areas we don't, particularly those who are older than us.

Qualities of a good friend:

Though we all want friends that have the qualities of good friends, we must also be good friends in order to have good friends. There are different types of people who can be good friends; the following qualities make them one of the best friends in the world.

Good friends are upbeat and inspirational; they will bring out the best in you and show you that you have a lot more to offer in life. These are the individuals that will encourage you to be positive about life and assist you in living it to the fullest.

Good friends are encouraging and reassuring; they will always be there for you, guiding and soothing you through difficult times. They also encourage your desire since they believe in your potential and will console you when things get tough by cheering you up and making you feel safe.

Good friends are compassionate and care about you; they are willing to listen to whatever you have to say. They are great listeners not because it is expected of them, but because they genuinely care about you. They don't pass judgment, but they do appreciate your choices and are eager to congratulate you on becoming the person you want to be.

Though it may appear strange, good friends are the ones who would slap you in the face with the most unpleasant truth, not to hurt your feelings, but to save you from disastrous repercussions. They will be patient with you, no matter how annoying you are, because they realize your flaws yet remain loyal to you because of their authenticity.

Being a good friend entails more than being open, possessing positive characteristics, and showing up when you're needed. Being a good friend entails being sincere in your affection, being selfless, and willing to make sacrifices.

How to make friends

Knowing people and speaking with them is one thing; being able to make friends with them is quite another. Many people inquire about how to truly make friends since they believe it is difficult; yet, creating friends can only be easy if you are a friend yourself. If you're not friendly, you won't be able to make friends. Here are a few strategies to make friends, which are only achievable if you use the procedure boldly.

Making yourself available and taking advantage of opportunities to meet new people. This can be accomplished by attending social functions and participating in activities outside of your closet.
"You can't stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes"
A.A Milne

Take a first step by talking and connecting with people you've known. Have an open conversation by saying something friendly and keep the conversation going. Having good manners goes a long way and it helps to make a good impression; you can always start by greeting them, complimenting them and making them feel happy in your presence.

Maintain a positive demeanor by smiling and making eye contact with others. It's more like creating a very good appearance that will entice people to interact with you more. Avoid using close-up body language, such as sitting alone in a corner and folding your arms.

Doing these and then giving up because they didn't work is not an option; instead, practice them constantly. Friendship exists for a variety of reasons, and participating in it will result in a well-lived life.
