Incompatible Mythos
Barrier

Powerful, rhythmic strokes propel
her tail, his wings in mythic way,
Two graceful notes with fluid style,
rippling scales make joyful play.

Slashing shadow, wave top dancing,
matched by golden glints beneath.
Shared emotion seeks expression,
partners form and patterns speak.

Mermaid longing, dragon yearning,
gazes mirrored twixt sea and sky.
Peering through a foamy prism,
soul mates on opposing sides.

Unresolved, the surface tension
splits their realms, keeps each alone.
Sere desiccation looms above,
and quenching cold awaits below.
