week 1 - second session of Micro fiction challenge.
His eyes were unfocused. I don’t think he saw me. It was like he was looking through me. He turned and stiffly walked from the room. Just minutes ago he had been in bed next to me. I followed him into the kitchen. He went straight to the knife drawer. Withdrawing my sharpest chef knife he turned to face me. “I will cut that demon out of you! It won’t hurt a bit.”

I screamed.

He blinked and shook his head. He looked down at the knife in his hand. “I was doing it again, wasn’t I? I’m sorry love.”
