Week 2 Microfiction Challenge
The sea rises and falls. The winds and the tides have their way with the waves. One lone man sits on the pier with a line hanging down into the waves. He waits but not for fish. He fishes for a thing to do, a purpose to continue on. People come and go from the pier staring out over the waves. No one notices the fisherman. Day after day his line dangles sometimes there is bait. He never catches anything, certainly not the notice of the people passing by. Until the day a young boy walked up to him smiling.
