an image of an evergreen forest
old growth crowns
kiss the sky
towering remnants
of times gone by
soaring upward
reach through the fog
these gently swaying
hypnagogues

below the giants
new growth crowds
within the silent
foggy shroud
upward growing
toward the light
will in time
reach lofty heights
