Acrostic poem

I looked up in the sky one day, after the rain was through
I saw a multi-colored rainbow, peeking out of the blue
I never knew why or how that rainbow came to be
Till one day someone I know, told this story to me

Forty days and nights it rained, earth and man gone, not a trace
Only one named Noah, was spared by God's grace
A mighty Ark he did build, and filled it two by two
Of every living creature there, as God told him to do

After the waters were gone away and the Ark came to rest
The Lord made a promise that he would do his best
To never again destroy everything that once was made
Just to rid the world of sin, for it was the earth that paid

The rainbow is God's token between himself and the earth
And Noah is the father of all the new rebirth
The rainbow is a reminder of the covenant God will keep
For every living creature be they awake or asleep

So, look at that rainbow close, remember how it came to be
A promise of God's heavenly love he gives to you and me.
‘Nothing is permanent except him’
