Sometimes you have to poke the bear.
You know I can’t just sit and wait
for something new to come.
No, I don’t like the tried and true.
Oh, that’s okay for some.

But don’t they miss the thrill of it
when there is something new,
instead of just the same old stuff
and routines that we do?

Sometimes you have to poke the bear
to see if he’ll react.
Of course, you’d better be alert
in case he does attack.

But surely that is better than
the same ol’ daily grind.
If there is nothing else in life
I feel I’ll lose my mind.

Hell, that is what your heart is for –
to get you on the go.
Adventure is the surest way,
the best way that I know.

So come with me and take a chance;
let’s get outside and move.
We’ll stretch our legs and take a hike
and break out of this groove.

The mountains tops are calling us.
Just leave the map at home.
Who cares if we get lost out there?
The world’s our pleasure dome.

But give me just a minute here.
I need something to eat.
Let’s grab some food and have a drink.
Yeah, that would be real neat.

Hey, let’s not be too hasty now.
We all could use a bite.
Let’s sit on down to eat some lunch.
Yeah, that should set me right.

Well, that was good, now we can go,
but maybe first a rest.
A little nap about right now,
is maybe for the best.

And how’s the weather looking now?
We don’t want any rain.
Oh, I can take most anything.
It’s you who might complain.

Okay, I think we’re ready now.
Let’s set out for the park.
Well, darn, now look what you have done.
The sky’s already dark.

Yeah, carpe diem’s in my blood
and tempus fugit too.
But sometimes things get in the way.
So, hey, what can you do?

Tomorrow is another day.
I guess we’ll have to wait.
But don’t run off without me now.
Sometimes I might sleep late.
